Kitchen of the Year 2011 – Colorado Homes & Lifestyles
Working on the home of one of Boulder’s elite entrepreneurial couples was a joy and a challenge. The joy was co-creating with the highly creative couple. The challenge was fitting in all of the appliances. The owners frequently entertain family and friends, as well as host fund-raisers for non-profit organizations. The pantry (last photo below) is nearly the same size as the main kitchen and not only duplicates but also adds to the appliances in the main kitchen. Concrete counter top, custom hood, unfinished cabinetry by Plato Woodwork painted locally to create a ‘just right’ color were some of the materials we worked with to achieve the overall look of a weathered, but modern kitchen. The wonderful dimensional tile is by Ann Sacks.
