Gold
The Gold kitchen combines a modern layout with traditional white painted Shaker doors inset into the frame of the cabinets, a traditionally crafted technique. I entered into the home’s living room with two story vaulted ceilings, a wall of south facing windows and lots of art. Very spacious and expansive. The kitchen on the other hand, had 8′ ceilings with a beam straddling the space and one small window only 15′ from the neighbor’s garage. We added an interior window to bring in natural light and increase the visual space. The homeowner found an antique leaded glass window and we added a coffee bar beneath the window. We were able to minimize the number of wall cabinets because there is a walk in pantry. The artwork can be seen from the front door helping to integrate the new kitchen into the rest of the home.
